A video in which a Nobel prize winning physicist has to explain plate tectonics to a sitting US Congress member. Are these really the best and brightest we can come up with?

Nah, they're the ones with enough money to run for office. It's got nothing to do with smarts - just listen to the Texan hoping to prove that the oil and gas in Alaska originally came from Texas!

Yeah, I know - it's just all the rhetoric that politicians are supposed to represent the brightest and best among us. Ugh.

Actually, he wasn't so much going for that, as he was trying to get Chu to say Global warming is no worry. When in fact, AK got that oil and coal from when it was located a bunch closer to the tropics.
