What prompted this decision? Not healthcare, not foreign policy, nor anything else on the legislative agenda.
No, it's his choice in beer:
According to ABC "The president will drink Bud Light," his Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters. "The Harvard scholar has expressed his preference for Red Stripe, and the sergeant mentioned to Obama that he likes Blue Moon."Any president that willing drinks Bud Light is no president of mine! Obama should just said he'd be drinking urine all night. The Police officer has some taste - Blue Moon is a reasonably okay brew. Maybe he should be president, instead.

Maybe he didn't want to seen having an "elite" beer! LOL I joke. But seriously... Bud Light???
Kinda OT: Ran out of homebrew two days before the next batch is ready. Had to snag a case of Cascade to get us through. We all used to like the stuff, now we all think it's horrid compared to my homebrews. Well, at least it's good for cooking with.
I am not much of a beer drinker (Singha mostly, with thai food), but even I can see the merit in what you say.
Beer snob! *takes a swig of Corona Light*
But even I don't like Bud Light. Interesting choice.
I won't drink Bud Light even if it is FREE. Blerg.
I mean, I'll drink cheap beer - have a fondness for PBR. But Buttwiper Light?
@cabindweller: you admit to drinking pbr????? WOW!
So disappointed in the pres. Bud Light? I mean, c'mon.
I was listening to the radio, and on the funny news quiz show on the public radio network, they had something like this to say about his beer drinking decision:
"It looks like he drinks whatever is popular locally. This week he had bud light, the best selling beer in America. But in the campaign trail in Pennsylvania, he enjoyed a local brew, yuengling; in May in Indiana he ordered a bud; in North Carolina it was PBR; in West Virginia he drank homemade corn liquor. In Florida, in the 08 campaign, he drank vodka and ensure.
So we are ready to identify President Obama's preferred brand: it's Pander-Bräu."
